Abstract

This text presents the main ideas of a feeling-thinking experience, as an academic and as a human being who reflects on his own experience as an immigrant, a total experience between thinking and feeling in which there is no separation, but moments in which the gaze it becomes more focused and critical on some aspects, and the research subject is part of the context he studies. In my experience as an immigrant lies the reason for the research I carried out in the master’s degree on the logics of existence that groups of Bolivians and Bolivians reproduce in São Paulo and that I decided to rethink from the non-colonial concept of Ch’ixi, an Aymara aphorism that Bolivian sociologist and activist Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui theorized, providing a conceptual tool that allows one to have a critical perspective on the idea of miscegenation, syncretism, cultural hybridism, and to think about the reality of people who have the ch’ixi identity. That is, a tarnished, juxtaposed identity, a consequence of the colonial fact, an identity that coexists in different dimensions of thought and times, reinventing the past in the present, with new characteristics that adapt to different contexts, territories and spaces.
