A memória familiar dos albergados da Casa do Migrante

Abstract

Who are the residents of Casa do Migrante, former Association of Volunteers for the Integration of Migrants - AVIM? This is perhaps exactly the question that comes to mind when posing the task of knowing the family situation, or a bit of the life history of those who stayed at this institution between the years 1998 and 2001. This is one aspect among others, such as their insertion in the world of work or the occupation of free time, in a research that aimed to investigate the institutionalized reception of migrants in the city of São Paulo. It is precisely within the institutional framework of this hostel, in the available spaces and times, under the intermediation of its directors and employees, that we sought to hear fragments of the sheltered family history.
