Os caminhos pós-formação universitária: os desafios dos egressos guineenses

Abstract

This work addresses the post-education trajectory of the first Guinean students graduated from the Universidade da Integração Internacional da Lusofonia Afro-Brasileira (UNILAB), specifically from the Campus dos Malês located in Bahia. The creation of UNILAB is surrounded by a South-South internationalization policy, strengthening ties between Brazil and other Portuguese-speaking Countries (PALOP). The research seeks to understand the paths taken post-graduation by students, observing difficulties and achievements with a foc us on the professional field. For the development of the research, 40 of the 47 entrants in 2014 were interviewed. The investigation showed that the majority of graduates remain in Brazil, especially in postgraduate studies and/or are employed in the areas of entertainment and services, highlighting the Difficulty getting a job in your field of training. Despite remaining in Brazil, most expressed the desire to return to their country of origin. Among the graduates who returned to Guinea-Bissau, a large proportion work in their area of training, a different situation from those who live in Brazil and Portugal, who, for the most part, continue studying postgraduate studies.
