A situação migratória no Brasil e na Itália

Abstract

The article proposes a reflection on the migration issue based on the specific situation of two countries – Brazil and Italy – and their position in the global labor market. It analyzes the historical tradition and the current situation of emigration and immigration movements, the mechanisms for devaluing the immigrant workforce - such as institutional racism and addresses the migratory phenomenon as a rule and not an exception or an emergency, since it is a permanent condition of the very existence of capitalism. The sources for the analysis are literature collected in the main bibliographic databases and official statistical data from Brazil and Italy on migration.
