Configurações da migração haitiana no Mato Grosso do Sul

Abstract

This article analyzes the current configuration of Haitian migration in Mato Grosso do Sul, highlighting labor mobility and migration networks as booster factors of this process. Since 2012, groups of Haitians have settled in some cities of the Mato Grosso do Sul after being hired by state companies. This initial movement allowed the arrival of other groups in the following years, changing the profile and trends of this flow. As a consequence, one can observe the feminization of migration and the birth of Brazilian children of Haitian descent.
