About the Journal
Travessia - revista do migrante, four-monthly publication of CEM - Center for Migratory Studies (International Federation of CEMs J. B. Scalabrini). Born in 1988, the magazine reached 33 years of existence in 2020. Travessia has an interdisciplinary character and aims to contribute to the exchange between the wide and diversified production of knowledge and those who develop research, public managers and / or who work in social movements and pastoral care for migrants. Throughout its 33 years, Travessia has become one of the main Brazilian references for the study of migratory processes.
Magazine focus and scope
Travessia is an interdisciplinary magazine specializing in national and international migrations. Publishes scientific articles, interviews, reports, reviews, chronicles, poems in Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian and English. In addition, it receives articles in German. In this case, the text will be translated into one of the four languages mentioned above. The objective is to contribute to the wide production and dissemination of knowledge and knowledge about human mobility processes and their main protagonists, migrants.
Periodicity and Access
The periodicity of Crossing is quarterly (Jan - April; May - Aug; Sep - Dec) and can be obtained by subscription (printed format) or free of charge through download on your website and other digital platforms. When publishing in Travessia, the authors assign their copyright in relation to the texts approved by the Editorial Committee and published according to the magazine's rules.

The permanent challenges of national and international migrations and the practical experience with this reality reveal the need for periodical publications that go beyond the level of “information” and move forward to analyze the multiple issues inherent to migratory processes. Travessia - migrant magazine, since 1988, seeks to contribute to the production and dissemination of knowledge, knowledge, theoretical deepening and support for a commitment aimed at transforming the social reality of its theme. The magazine seeks to articulate the production of the academic world with popular, union and pastoral movements. It is a four-monthly publication, of an interdisciplinary character and that understands migration as a “total social fact” (Abdelmalek Sayad, 1988). Travessia is open to the collaboration of researchers, scholars and other people who have some kind of contribution to offer within the theme and perspective of the journal.
Conflict of interests
No texts already published in other Brazilian magazines are published. The publication of texts published in other international journals will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. In the case of (re) publication of these texts in Travessia, the articles must be translated into Portuguese.
